DEEP WATER GROUP EXERCISE

Take advantage of the water's liquid resistance power. Deep water (DWE) group exercise sessions are available at the SRSC Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center and SPHB Royer Pool. Click here for group exercise schedule.

AQUA JOGGING
Ask a lifeguard how to check these pool accessories out at the SRSC or WIC for an aqua workout.

Water Fitness Accessories

Barbell
Use this to stay afloat while you learn kicking and breathing. It provides more support in the water than a noodle.

Noodles
Beginning swimmers can feel more independent in the water and work on learning the doggie paddle and kicking with the noodle as a support.

Pull Buoy
Isolate the arms so that you can concentrate on your stroke technique and build arm strength. Swimmers can choose between two styles for comfort. The pull buoy goes between the legs, just above the knees.

Kickboard
Use the kickboard while you practice your kicking technique and build strength. The three holes allow for different placement of the hands and various body positions. Basic kickboards are also available.

Buoyancy Belt
Used in Deep Water exercise as well as for water jogging. This flotation belt fastens around the waist to keep the swimmer afloat. Run in the pool for your cardio workout!

Lifejacket
Feel safer while practicing your swimming strokes with a lifejacket on.
