We are pleased to announce that construction will begin soon on the main locker room renovation project. Please note the following upcoming important dates relevant to RS participants:

Upcoming Important Dates and News:
Dec. 10: Locker renters in main men’s locker room moved.
Dec. 11: Main men’s locker room closes.
Dec. 14: S&C rooms close.
Dec. 19: RS participants may resume use of Strength and Conditioning equipment on courts 4 & 5.

 

Our project will be completed in three phases:

Project Timeline:
Preparations for the project will begin November 20.

Project start date: December 21.
Phase I:
Renovation of main men’s and women’s locker room.

Phase II:
Renovation of men’s faculty and staff locker room.

Phase III:
Improvements to S&C rooms and martial arts area (095).

Projected end date: June 30, 2010.

We will do our due diligence to proactively update this time line as necessary throughout the entire renovation process.

 

IU Campus Recreational Sports and the School of HPER are pleased to announce the addition of a women’s locker room and the renovation of the men’s and faculty/staff locker rooms on the main level of the Wildermuth Intramural Center.

Upon completion of this project – anticipated June 30, 2010 - participants using the current men’s locker room and women’s locker room will experience an enhanced environment that will reflect improved aesthetics, access and facilities. Renovation highlights include:

Renovation highlights for both men’s, women’s and faculty/staff locker rooms:
• Handicap access
• New restroom fixtures
• New shower fixtures
• Enhanced privacy and security
• New lighting
• New finishes
• New lockers
• Enhanced ventilation and plumbing
• Direct access from locker room to pool 194
• New faculty staff area (women)
• Carpet in select areas
• Custom vanity stations (women)
