Campus Recreational Sports SRSC Facility

IDENTIFICATION POLICIES

Individuals interested in using the Recreational Facilities must present one of the following:

A. IU Bloomington Student I.D. with a valid Recreational Sports membership.

B. IUB Faculty/Staff I.D. with a valid Recreational Sports membership.

C. Recreational Sports Annual Membership card.

D. Recreational Sports Daily or Weekly Pass.

E. IU Conference Bureau I.D. with Recreational Sports privileges.

1. All participants are required to carry their I.D. or Recreational Sports pass with them at all times while using the facility. Only the identification cards mentioned previously will be accepted as valid.

2. Lost I.D.s may be found at the Member Services Suite, Room 115.

3. Any Day/Week Passes that have been altered in any way are automatically void and the person carrying such a pass shall not be permitted to use the facilities. Daily pass purchases may not be applied to the annual pass.

4. Any questions involving fees or Identification policies should be brought to the attention of the Informal Sports Supervisor or Member Services Associate.

5. A photo ID is required to purchase a membership, Day or Weekly Pass.

OPERATIONAL POLICIES

6. Children/dependents, under 18, must be accompanied and directly supervised by a parent or guardian (18 years or older) holding a valid IU identification card or membership, Daily/Weekly Pass, or valid Conference Bureau Name Badge.

7. Verbal and/or physical abuse towards an employee of the Division of Campus Recreational Sports or Recreational Sports participant will result in immediate dismissal from the facility, with possible one-year suspension of all Recreational Sports privileges and the possibility of expulsion from the University and legal charges filed.

8. No sparring involving physical contact, implements or weapons that the Informal Sports Supervisor deems unsafe is allowed.

9. Due to health concerns, participants are asked to please use the sink next to the water fountain for spitting.

10. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

11. No alcohol, tobacco products, firearms or illegal drugs are allowed in Recreational Sports facilities.

12. No pets other than service animals are allowed in the SRSC.

13. Daily equipment and lock check out is available at the equipment desk on the lower level of the SRSC for students or members at no additional cost. Day and week pass users may also check out a lock at no additional cost

14. Personal possessions should be stored in a locker. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

15. Baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, and cricket is not permitted in any area of the SRSC without direct supervision by Intramural Sports staff or Informal Sports Supervisors.

16. Personal Training is restricted to Recreational Sports Fitness/Wellness staff exclusively.

17. Photography with any type of camera within any Recreational Sport facility is prohibited unless prior arrangements have been made and a waiver signed by Recreational Sports Professional staff member. 18. Signage or flyers of any type must be approved prior to posting. Tape is prohibited on any wall in the SRSC.

19. Strollers are restricted to the public hallways & restrooms and not allowed in Recreational Sports activity areas. The only exception is during Family Night and youth swim/dive lessons.

20. If you are hurt in any way at the SRSC please report your injury to Recreational Sports staff. Participants should be treated for open wounds and/or replace clothing that is potentially infectious.

21. Any clothing item that has enough blood on it that the blood can be transferred to another surface when touched must be taken off and put in a biohazard bag.

22. Shoes should be clean of debris before entering Recreational Sports activity spaces.

23. Emergency Evacuation Drills are typically conducted twice a year. Your cooperation to evacuate whether or not a drill is appreciated. There are emergency response signs posted throughout the SRSC and there are trained Recreational Sports personnel to assist when evacuations are initiated.

24. Groups may reserve activity space. Contact a Member Services Associate for an application.

25. For security purposes, do not leave external facility doors or entrances to the locker rooms propped open.

26. Questions and concerns regarding Recreational Sports Programs, personnel, and equipment should be directed to SRSC 115 or call 855-7772. There are also comment cards at strategic locations throughout the SRSC for you use in conveying your thoughts.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY

Neither Indiana University nor the Division of Campus Recreational Sports accepts any responsibility for ill health or injury sustained while participating in any of the programs. No medical or ambulance expense incurred by a participant will be paid by the Division or by the University. Participation is on a voluntary basis. It is recommended that all participants undergo a prior physical examination and carry some form of health and injury insurance. If an injury does occur, it should be reported to the nearest Recreational Sports staff member. In the event that blood is involved in an injury, that person cannot continue to participate until the wound is properly cleaned and dressed; any clothing with blood should be removed.

 

 

SRSC Center Court Area Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 1,656 or 330/court. This policy is calculated for standing only.

1. Dunking, grabbing, hanging on rims or nets, or hand in the “cylinder” is not permitted due to safety and maintenance concerns. Violators will be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

2. Kicking or throwing of a basketball and/or other equipment towards the ceiling and/or track is not permitted. Violators will be asked to leave the facility immediately and will be billed for the damages.

3. Verbal and/or physical abuse towards an employee of the IU Division of Campus Recreational Sports or Recreational Sports participant will result in immediate dismissal from the facility, with possible one-year suspension of all Recreational Sports privileges and the possibility of expulsion from the University and legal charges filed.

4. Abuse of property will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

6. Basketball Challenge Court Policy: Printed on the south baseline of each court are the numbers 1, 2, 3... These numbers specify the order in which challenges will be accepted. Number 1 is the first priority. One member from each team must be on the numbered spot in order to play the winners. Challenge court scoring is 1-point baskets, play to 15, and win by 1.

7. Court 2 is the Women’s priority court: During all Informal Sport hours. Four women are needed to play a half-court game and eight for a full-court game. If a game is in progress, the teams will be allowed 5 minutes to finish their game. During Intramural Basketball season, eight people are needed for a full-court game; half-court policy is not in effect.

8. Half-Court Rights: Players may continue to use a basket until 8 or more want to play a full-court game.

9. Court #3 is a Volleyball priority court. During Intramural basketball season only – a minimum of four volleyball players are needed to play volleyball. Any basketball game being played will be given five minutes to finish. You must notify the Informal Sports Supervisor at Center Court or at the turnstiles of your desire to play volleyball. They will notify the basketball players and set up necessary equipment. All times other than Intramural basketball season the volleyball net will remain set up for informal play at all times.

10. Clothing and equipment must be hung up or locked up and is not to be placed under the basketball goals. Items placed on the floors will be taken to the Equipment Desk lost and found for reclaiming. Recreational Sports is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items.

11. A receptacle is available next to the water fountains for spitting purposes. Do not spit on the floor or in the garbage cans.

12. Only non-marking gym shoes will be allowed unless you are a spectator.

13. Dust mops are available to assist in the cleaning of debris from the floor. Please return them to the hooks when finished.

14. In the event of an injury or accident, please press the EMERGENCY PANEL button once for medical attention and seek assistance from the nearest on-site Recreational Sports employee.

 

SRSC Track Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 137

1. The track direction changes daily. Follow the signs for the appropriate direction.

2. Inside Lane = Walking - Middle Lane = Jogging - Outside Lane = Running.

3. The courtesy rule of passing is recommended. A jogger should say, “Passing on your left [or right],” and look behind to make sure no other runners are coming before making a pass.

4. Stretching and warm-up exercises are to occur in the stretching area on the right hand side as you enter the track area.

5. Due to potential safety hazards do not stand on track to watch basketball. No one is allowed to stand on or block any lanes of the track.

6. Children under 18 yrs of age are NOT permitted on the cardio equipment located next to the track – even if accompanied by an adult.

7. Personal possessions should be stored in a locker. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

8. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

9. In the event of an injury or accident, please press the EMERGENCY PANEL button once for medical attention and/or seek assistance from an on-site Recreation Sports employee.

10. Strollers are not permitted on the track.

11. Abuse of property or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

 

SRSC MULTI-SPORT I Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 100

1. Only non-marking athletic shoes should be worn in Multi-Sport I.

2. Badminton can be played outside of group exercise sessions in Multi-Sport 1. Badminton play has priority over other informal activity during informal time outside of group exercise scheduled sessions.

3. Badminton nets and standards will be set up and taken down by on-duty Informal Sports Supervisors. A total of 3 badminton courts can be set-up. Please contact the Informal Sports Supervisor to have equipment set up for informal use. Badminton equipment is available for use at the Equipment Check-out desk on the lower level. Due to the number of group exercise session, Multi-Sport I can not be reserved in advance.

4. Dependents under 18 years of age are not permitted to participate in Group Exercise sessions. They must be under direct supervision at all times when in MS I for any other reason.

5. Dust mops are available to assist in the cleaning of debris from the floor. Please return them to the hooks when finished.

6. Participants should report malfunctioning lights, temperature fluctuations or any other maintenance concerns to the on-site Recreational Sports employee.

7. Personal possessions should be stored in a locker. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

8. Abuse of property or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

9. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

SRSC MULTI-SPORT II Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 143

1. Only non-marking athletic shoes should be worn in Multi-Sport II.

2. Indoor soccer, Badminton, dodge ball and whiffle ball are allowed in MS II except during Intramural Sports times. All other sport activities are not allowed.

3. Reservations: Multi-Sport II can be reserved for Indoor Soccer only for up to 24 hours prior to play. Due to the low number of badminton courts, the priority space for badminton is Multi-Sport I outside of group exercise sessions. Courts must be claimed within 5 minutes of the reserved starting time or the reservation will be forfeited. Failure to present a valid I.D. will result in forfeiture of the reservation (call 855-7772, or stop by the Member Services Suite, SRSC 115 to make a reservation).

4. Dust mops are available to assist in the cleaning of debris from the floor. Please return them to the hooks when finished.

5. Prior to participation in any Group Exercise session, participants should sign the “Participation Waiver” provided by the leader.

SRSC MULTI-SPORT III Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 92

1. Only non-marking athletic shoes should be worn in Multi-Sport III.

2. No informal sports activities are permitted in MS III without permission from the Informal Sports Supervisor.

3. Prior to participation in any Group Exercise or Mind/body session, participants should sign the “Participation Waiver” provided by the leader.

4. Dependents under 18 years of age are not permitted to participate in Group Exercise sessions. They must be under direct supervision at all times when in MS III for any other reason.

5. Participants should report malfunctioning lights, temperature fluctuations or any other maintenance concerns to the Group Exercise or Mind/body leader.

6. Dust mops are available to assist in the cleaning of debris from the floor. Please return them to the hooks when finished.

7. Participants are not to turn on or off the lights.

9. Abuse of property or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

10. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

SRSC Racquetball/Squash/Wallyball/Handball Courts Policies

Occupancy Capacity = Games 4; Instruction 20; Courts 1&2 seating area 40

1. Racquetball eye guards are recommended in order to reduce the chance of eye injuries and are available for checkout at the Equipment Desk.

2. Shirts that cover the chest are required as a common courtesy and for safety.

3. Clothing, equipment, and other items, should be placed in a locker, not on the court, the overlooking ledge, or out side the door. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items hung on the wall hooks.

4. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

5. Dependents under 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times to utilize the Racquetball/Squash/Wallyball courts.

6. Reservations: Courts for racquetball, squash, or wallyball are available by reservation up to 24 hours prior to play. The length of reservation is 1 hour maximum in 30 minute increments. Courts must be claimed within 5 minutes of the reserved starting time or the reservation will be forfeited. Failure to present a valid I.D. will result in forfeiture of the reservation (call 855-7772, or stop by the Member Services Suite, SRSC 115 to make a reservation).

7. Courts may not be reserved after the 5 minute grace period has expired. If 5 minutes has passed and someone is playing on a court, that same court may not be reserved at that moment to displace the current players.

8. Individuals must check in at SRSC 115 to claim their reserved court before proceeding to the turnstile.

9. The official clock is located on the wall between courts 3 and 4. A secondary clock is located in the Member Services Suite.

10. When time has expired at the end of a reserved time period, please use common courtesy by knocking on the door to signal the time turnover. Do not enter the court until the participants open the door.

11. Racquetball Challenge Court Policy – Courts 1 & 2: • The challenge court policy will be in effect Monday & Thursday 5:00 – 7:00 PM • Each game will be played to 11 points. • Each player is limited to stay on the court for 3 games maximum, and then they must leave and enter their name on the bottom of the list. • Games where opponents score less than 5 points do not count toward the 3 game limit. • Cut-Throat and Doubles are allowed only if in agreement with the next player on the list (3 game limit still applies). • Opponents may require that eye protection be worn on the court.

12. Only clean, non-marking athletic shoes are allowed on the courts.

13. Racquet sports, Wallyball, and table tennis equipment are available for checkout from the Equipment Check-out desk located on the lower level.

14. Wallyball is available on courts 1 – 5 and 9 & 10.

15. Table Tennis may be set up with the assistance of an Informal Sport Supervisor in courts 9 and/or 10.

16. Squash is the only activity allowed on courts 11 & 12. No table tennis permitted on Courts 11 & 12.

17. Dust mops are available to assist in the cleaning of debris from the floor. Please return them to the hooks when finished.

18. In the event of an injury or accident, please press the EMERGENCY PANEL, in the hallway between courts 4 and 5, button once to receive medical attention and/or seek assistance from an on-site Recreation Sports employee.

SRSC Cyclefit Studio Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 26

1. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times. Signage is posted on the bulletin as you enter the room. Ask the Group Exercise leader if you are unsure.

2. Advanced sign–ups are required for cycle-fit bikes. Call Member Services at 855-7772 after 8am on day of session for reservations.

3. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

SRSC Cardio Studio Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 20

1. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times. If you are unsure about the safe handling of equipment please direct any questions to the Strength & Conditioning consultants on duty upstairs in the Strength & Conditioning room.

2. Participants must sign up for treadmills and elliptical cross trainers. Participants may sign up for one 30-minute slot for each type of equipment (i.e. participants may not sign up for two different treadmills consecutively). This procedure reserves the piece of equipment for up to five minutes into the time slot; after five minutes, the piece becomes open for other users.

3. Participants may only sign themselves up for a treadmill or elliptical cross trainer. Please do not sign up friend(s) or other participants.

4. All cardio equipment should remain in its original location.

5. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Cardio Room.

6. Abuse of property or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

7. Only authorized personnel of the Division of Campus Recreational Sports are allowed to personal train in the SRSC.

8. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed and open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted. Workout clothes that fully cover the chest must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

9. The television remote control is is located on the wall below the television. Please follow the instructions to use the television in the interest of the majority of participants.

10. Personal possessions should be stored in a locker. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

11. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

12. Strollers are not permitted in the Cardio Studio.

13. In the event of an injury or accident, please press the EMERGENCY PANEL button, in the hallway between courts 4 and 5, once to receive medical attention and/or seek assistance from an on-site supervisor at the turnstiles.

SRSC Strength Circuit Room Policies

Occupancy Capacity = 20

1. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times. If you are unsure about the safe handling of equipment please direct any questions to the Strength & Conditioning consultants on duty upstairs in the Strength & Conditioning room.

2. No food, drink (other than water), or glass containers are allowed past the turnstiles.

3. This area is for Circuit use: Complete one set on a machine then rotate clockwise to the next machine.

4. Participants using this area for Circuit training have priority: Participants wanting to perform more than one set on a particular piece of equipment should do so in the Strength & Conditioning Area upstairs. (RM 320/330)

5. All strength training equipment should stay in its original location.

6. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed and open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted. Workout clothes that fully cover the chest must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

7. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the strength circuit room.

8. Abuse of property (slamming weight stacks, dropping weights to floor, etc.) or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be subject to disciplinary process and asked to leave the facility immediately.

9. Music Policy: The volume is to be set between 70 and 80 dB (determined by a decibel meter) in accordance with OSHA standards.

10. Only authorized personnel of the Division of Campus Recreational Sports are allowed to personal train in Recreational Sports facilities.

11. Personal possessions should be stored in a locker. Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

12. Strollers are not permitted in the strength circuit room.

13. In the event of an injury or accident, please press the EMERGENCY PANEL button, in the hallway between courts 4 and 5, once to receive medical attention and/or seek assistance from an on-site supervisor at the turnstiles.

SRSC Strength & Conditioning Room Policies

Occupancy Capacity = room 330 (weights) = 100; room 320 (cardio) = 128; Max combined 228

1. EXERCISES THAT MAY ENDANGER YOU OR OTHER PARTICIPANTS ARE SRTICTLY PROHIBTED.

2. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times. If you are unsure how to use a piece of equipment, please ask a Strength and Conditioning Consultant. PLEASE DO NOT DROP WEIGHTS.

3. Weight plates, dumbbells, and other equipment accessories must be returned to their proper location use. Please re-rack dumbbells in weight order.

4. All strength training equipment must stay in its original location; moving equipment is not permitted.

5. Collars must be used on bars at all times.

6. Abuse of property (slamming weight stacks, dropping weights to the floor, etc.) or verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators may be asked to leave the facility immediately and are subject to the Recreational Sports participant disciplinary process.

7. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed and open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted. Workout clothes that fully cover the chest must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

11. Only authorized personnel of the Division of Campus Recreational Sports are allowed to provide personal training services in the Strength and Conditioning areas.

12. Please leave personal belongings in personal storage bins, lockers, or on hooks. Personal belongings are not permitted beyond the Consultant station or anywhere else in the Strength and Conditioning areas. The Division of Campus Recreational Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

13. All participants must enter/exit through designated areas.

14. Individuals without a valid Indiana University student I.D. and under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Strength and Conditioning areas.

15. TV Policy: Cardio Theater allows participants to listen to the TV stations in room 320 with their headphones (please note: listening devices/headphones are not provided by Recreational Sports). For the TV closest to the elevator, participants can tune to 88.5 FM for sound and for the TV closest to the stretching area in room 320, participants can tune to 89.1 FM. Closed Caption should remain on at all times for those who do not have their listening devices with them. TV stations may be periodically changed throughout the day by participants; once a station is changed, however, it must remain on that station for at least 30 minutes.

16. Music Policy: The volume is to be set between 70 and 80 dB (determined by a decibel meter). Individuals may request that the volume be reduced, but not turned off. Music stations may be periodically changed throughout the day at participant request. Once a station is changed, however, it must remain on that station for at least 20 minutes.

17. For safety, maximal participant capacities have been established in accordance with local building codes and industry standards. Maximal participant capacity at the SRSC is 215. Recreational Sports personnel may limit access to Strength and Conditioning areas based on these limits.

18. Strollers are not permitted in the Strength and Conditioning areas.

19. In the event of an injury/accident, contact a Strength and Conditioning Consultant.

SRSC Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center (CBAC) Policies

Occupancy Capacity: Competition Pool = 1025, Diving Well = 356, Deck Space = 1259

1. Children/dependents, under 18, must be accompanied and directly supervised by a parent or guardian (18 years or older) holding a valid IU identification card or membership, Daily/Weekly Pass, or valid Conference Bureau Name Badge.

2. Participants may not enter the pool until a Recreational Sports Lifeguard is on duty and instructions of the lifeguard must be obeyed at all times.

3. Lifeguards will make final decisions concerning the safety of all participants in the pool area.

4. If the lifeguards blow their whistles, stop what you are doing and follow their instructions.

5. Running, rough play, intoxication, and profanity is prohibited.

6. Participants in the Diving Well must be able to swim the width of the pool.

7. Only Coast Guard approved life jackets will be allowed as swimming aids and are only allowed in the shallow area of the lap swimming pool. No other type of flotation device will be allowed.

8. Kickboards, pull buoys and Aqua Joggers are training aids and may not be used as floatation devices.

9. Use of the trampoline, dryland diving boards, harnesses, and hot tub is not permitted by Recreational Sports participants.

10. No jumping or diving from the starting blocks. No diving into the competition pool.

11. Lane lines should be used only as safety lines in case of an emergency.

12. Swimsuits are required. No cut-offs, gym shorts or other attire is allowed. Changing clothes on deck is prohibited.

13. No glass containers, food or drink (except water in plastic bottles) are permitted in the pool area.

14. State law requires that all swimmers must take a shower before entering the pool.

15. Only towels, deck footwear, and items necessary for swimming are allowed on deck. All other personal belongings must be stored in a locker.

16. Lap Swimming will follow a circular pattern, swimming on the right-hand side of the lane at all times except to pass. Please try to pass another swimmer at the wall.

17. In the event of an injury, an accident, or you are not feeling well, please notify a Lifeguard immediately.

18. During activity, please keep unused equipment near poolside and out of the way of participants on the deck.

19. Goggles, kickboards, pull buoys, fins and stroke paddles are allowed. Please return all Recreational Sports equipment to the storage bin.

20. All equipment in the equipment storage container is the property of IU Division of Campus Recreational Sports and should only be used in the pool area.

Diving Well, Diving Board and Platform Policies

1. Diving board and platform participants must leave the board/platform facing the water. Backward and inward dives are not permitted.

2. Only one bounce per dive is allowed on the springboards. There are no practice bounces allowed. No gymnastic activity (i.e. cartwheel or head and hand stands).

3. Recreational Sports participants may only use the diving boards closest to the center of the pool.

4. Use of the diving boards and platform or lap swimming during Group Exercise sessions and other organized activities is prohibited.

5. While the diving boards and platforms are in use, no other activity is permitted in that area of the diving well.

6. Running on the platforms is not permitted.

7. In the event of an injury, an accident, or you are not feeling well, please notify a Lifeguard immediately.

SRSC Locker Room Policies and Procedures Policies

1. SRSC Rental Locker Policies and Procedures: Lockers are rented to current Recreational Sports members and students with a valid Indiana University ID. See us at Member Services to reserve your locker. Upon renting a locker, the member is given a receipt which is taken to the Equipment Check-Out desk to receive the locker assignment and towel. Lockers are available for rental on first come, first serve basis. Locks may be purchased at Member Services or provided by the rentee. Lockers must have locks on them at all times. Call 855.7772 for additional information.

2. Towel Service with a SRSC Locker Rental: Any participant who rents a locker on a semester or yearly basis will receive FREE towel service for the duration of their rental period. Once you have rented your locker just bring your Recreational Sports membership card or IU ID to the Equipment Desk on the lower level to receive your clean towel.

3. Daily Locker Use: Short daily use lockers are available past the turnstiles and in the accessible rooms in both the Men’s and Women’s locker rooms. Tall lockers in the main locker rooms are for daily use only. Participants may check out locks from the Equipment Desk for daily use. Failure to remove any lock on a daily use locker before closing will result in the lock being cut. Recreational Sports does not assume any responsibility for belongings that are left in daily use lockers over night. Any questions regarding belongings left in day use lockers should be directed to the Equipment Desk. There is a 7$ lock replacement fee for Recreational Sports locks cut off.

5. Locker Security: Always remember to double-check your lock when showering or leaving the locker area. Recreational Sports is not responsible for items lost or stolen in the locker room or from lockers. An incident report form may be filed at the Equipment Checkout Desk in the event of a loss or theft. The participant is also encouraged to file a police report for any lost or stolen items.

6. Locker Clean out: Locker clean-out will take place during the week following each semester. It is the participant’s responsibility to renew or clean out their locker prior to the locker rental expiration date. Recreational Sports does not assume any responsibility for belongings in expired lockers. An attempt will be made to bag belongings found in any expired locker and kept in the lost and found for 30 days. After 30 days, all items will be considered abandoned and disposed of. Personal locks found on expired lockers will be cut off.

7. Renewal: Renewal notices will be posted in the locker rooms 30 days before the end of each semester. An email will also be sent out to each locker occupant 15 days prior to locker expiration as a reminder to renew their locker.

8. Towel Service without a Locker Rental: Towel Service may also be purchased separately from a locker. Purchase your towel service from Member Services. Once you have purchased your towel service just bring your Recreational Sports card or IU ID to the Equipment Desk on the lower level to receive your clean towel.

9. Children 6 and older should go in the gender appropriate locker rooms.

10. Suitmates: Suitmates are located in the men and women’s locker rooms. Please use these machines for drying swimsuits only. RecSports cannot accept responsibility for swimsuits damaged in the suitmate machines so participants are cautioned to use the machines at their own risk.

11. Accessible Lockers: Accessible lockers are available to persons with disabilities in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms in the SRSC.

12. If soap dispensers are empty or there is any of maintenance concerns please notify the Informal Sports Supervisors at the Equipment Desk.
