2. Program Areas:
A. Aquatics:
Recreational Sports offers swim lessons for all ages and skill levels. RS also offers advanced Stroke Refinement Lessons and ARC Lifeguard training courses.

Group Swimming Lessons
All ages and skill levels welcome! Sessions consist of four to six participants and the cost is:
$44 per member (includes students with valid IDs)
$49 per non-member (No Recreational Sports membership is required)
- Private Lessons
Private swimming lessons for adults and youth are available. Private lessons cost $22 per 45-minute lesson.
- Semi-private Lessons
Can’t fit group sessions in your schedule? Learn to swim with friends! We offer special discounts on semi-private swimming lessons.

American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training Course
Learn the latest skills and techniques of water rescues in courses taught by certified ARC instructors following the ARC curriculum.
- ARC Lifeguard Training Challenge
Already know lifeguarding skills and confident in your abilities but need recertification? Without taking the lifeguard training course, perform all the ARC Lifeguarding skills correctly in a session supervised by a certified instructor and receive your certification.
B. Club Sports:
IU Recreational Sports has over 40 club sports to choose from. Everyone, regardless of skill level, is invited to join. Campus Recreational Sports has one of the largest club sports programs in the country, and provides oversight and guidance to the Club Sports Federation.
C. Group Exercise:
From hip hop to deep water exercise the group exercise program offers something for everyone. There are over 80 sessions offered every week, and each session is free to RS members and students with a valid ID card.
D. Informal Sports:
Informal Sports, offers you the opportunity to play your favorite sports on your own time during open play hours. With your valid student ID or Recreational Sports membership ID, you can check-out many types of sporting equipment for use in the facilities at no extra fee.
E. Intramural Sports:
Have fun and make friends by participating in a favorite intramural sport. There is something for everyone! More than a game, Intramural Sports lets you build friendships, strengthen your mind and body, develop character and nurture skills. When you register, instant scheduling lets you pick the day and time that works best for you or your team!
F. Yoga & Pilates:
Choose from yoga, Pilates, belly dancing or BalletFit. You can also get involved in Partner Salsa and Martial Arts Samplers. Try a Yoga & Pilates session before you sign up for a series at sampler sessions (see the group exercise schedule for times). No registration is needed to attend sampler sessions. All you need is your valid IU I.D. or a RS membership.
G. Personal Training:
Personal Training is one-on-one instruction that incorporates goal setting and health education into challenging workouts. Hire a trainer to help you get on track to a healthier lifestyle. No Recreational Sports membership is required to participate in the personal training program.
H. Work out – Strength and Conditioning:
We are committed to promoting lifetime exercise habits. Make health and fitness a priority in your life! Did you know that Strength and Conditioning Consultants receive eight hours of training on everything from basic health and fitness topics to more complicated subjects like exercise physiology, kinesiology and functional training?
3. Video Tour:
The SRSC is a popular venue among IU students as a place to stay active with sports and fitness activities. Have a look at the SRSC Video Tour. Attend one of our job opportunities sessions to find out more about working at the Campus Recreational Sports and fill out an application. Applications are accepted only at the Job Opportunity Sessions.
