CycleFit FAQ
  • Can I try these sessions before I buy them?  We offer two ways for participants to try our sessions for free.  The first week of every semester we run our full schedule of sessions as drop in (no registration or punch card required).  Then, throughout the semester, we also offer a a couple one-time Special Sessions.  See ___ for more details.  For your safety and in respect of our participant’s experience, we do not allow individuals to sit in on sessions.

  • What time should I arrive?  Please arrive 5 minutes early to your sessions if possible.  This allows our leaders to help set you up on your bike so that you have proper fit and allows you to take part in the warm up.  Further, if you are using a punch card, admittance into a session is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • What level of intensity are the sessions?  The great thing about indoor cycling is that the intensity is what you make it!  Our leaders will cue you to increase your bikes resistance and join them on a hill or bump up your cadence to blast through a sprint, but you are in control of all dials.  Watch out, you may get so motivated that you find yourself working harder than you thought you could!

  • What should I wear?  We recommend wearing shorts or capri-length workout pants so that you don’t risk having your clothing caught in the pedals.  Many of our participants find it most comfortable to wear padded cycling shorts.  Restrictive clothing such as jeans, pants with zippers, etc. are not recommended.

  • Do I need special shoes?  Cycling shoes are not necessary; however, you will want to wear close-toed and close-heeled athletic shoes.

  • What should I bring?  We strongly encourage all participants to bring a water bottle.  We provide participant towels but feel free to bring your own if you’d like.  Otherwise, just be sure to have you IU ID or RS Membership!

  • What if I have an injury?  We recommend that you consult with your doctor about participating in these sessions if you are healing from or dealing with a chronic injury.  If your doctor agrees that your participation is safe, please inform the session leader of your situation so that they can provide appropriate modifications of exercises.
